Welcome to Our Website
Next meeting Monday 21st May 2012
Time 7.45 for 8 to 10 pm. approx.
Tonight we have our our first colour print competition of the season. Our judge David Wood from Beckenham Camera Club will critique each image and award marks out of 10. Top scoring pictures will go forward to our finals event next year, and top photographers will pass on tips of their winning shots.
A recent poll at the club found 100% of members believed that joining SLPS had improved their photography. Stay with us for a year and we are sure we can improve yours. Great time to join with the special reduced rate for the first years membership.
New members welcome as always. Don't forget you can come along with no obligation, to try before you buy!
See Diary for further details of our forthcoming events.
Don't forget to visit: Monthly Project
And click Facebook to view the club's Facebook account (opens in a new window). Please note that, as with all Facebook accounts, everyone has the ability to see parts, or all of the SLPS account. Do not post anything that will damage your own reputation, or that of SLPS.
Finally, check out the Tate Britain page for a new Exhibition that's taking place on your doorstep.
The South London Photographic Society (known affectionately as SLPS) was founded in 1889, and is one of the oldest photographic societies in the Country. But don't be put off by our grand name - 'photographic society' is just a posh name for camera club.
We are a small, friendly group of amateur photographers who meet together regularly on an informal basis.
We cover the full range of levels – from beginner to expert. And the whole age range, from teenager to Senior citizen.
Most of our members now shoot digital, producing images in both colour and black and white. A number also use colour slides. Whatever your interest, you will find an outlet for your creative talent. We offer free digital imaging tuition on a one to one basis, so if you are having trouble, or would just like to know more, we are here to help
We meet every Monday evening (not Bank Holidays), from September through till July in the Baptist Church hall on Perry Rise, Sydenham, South London (close to Forest Hill). Our programme includes talks, lectures, demonstrations, visits, competitions and practical evenings. The hall has easy disabled access via a ramp. There are also tea and coffee making facilities (with biscuits!) and toilets.
Please have a look through our website. Whether your are just starting out in photography, returning to it after a break, or a serious practitioner looking to refine your technique, we would be delighted to see you at one of our meetings.
FIRST YEAR MEMBERSHIP FEE JUST £40..
See Membership for further details

We have a growing A/V section and produce exciting A/V's of all our competitions. Come along to learn more.
